The Weather forecast for the Hungarian GP - Another rainy weekend?
This weekend we return to the Hungaroring for the fourteenth round of the season. The last two Races in Silverstone and Spa definitely reminded us of the unpredictability of the weather and it´s heavy influence on the events course. Once again, the weather is one of the biggest talking points before this racing weekend goes underway. Will it rain? Will we see one of those hot races in Hungary? What can be said already is: with two wet races in Silverstone and Spa in a row now, Hungary could very likely make it three.
The forecast
Friday, August 1
FP1 (1:30pm CEST) will most likely be held under dry conditions, with air temperatures around 27 degrees to be expected. Same goes for FP2 (5:00pm CEST). Dry conditions with temperatures around 27 degrees and glimpses of sunshine can be seen on the forecast.
Saturday, August 2
The final practice session starts at 12:30pm CEST, and with it come the first rain clouds. Light rain is expected in the morning with a probability of around 40%. For the most important session of the day, qualifying, starting at 4:00pm, the sky will still be filled with clouds. With a chance of 50%, rain could hit the session and shake up the starting order for sundays main event.
Sunday, August 3
Race day will feature, as previously seen in Silverstone and Spa, changing conditions. While sunshine enlightens the Hungaroring in the morning, the sky should be cloudy for the afternoon race (3:00pm CEST). The chance of rain is stated with around 40%, which has to be considered within the teams strategy and setup choices.

Final evaluation
The weather at the Hungaroring is known for it´s extremes - either i´ts pouring rain or it´s searing hot. It will be interesting to find out if thats the case once again this weekend. The weather will repititively be a hot topic for every session this weekend - an additional challenge for the teams and the drivers.
