2025 F1 US GP weather forecast: Searing heat and sunshine at COTA

This weekend Formula One returns to COTA for the thirteenth time since 2012 - an event that has become prestigious over the years. After the sweltering heat and humidity at the Singapore Grand Prix, the drivers can’t cool off just yet - Austin is known for burning hot temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Let’s find out if this race weekend can live up to this reputation.

THe Forecast

Friday, 17 October, FP1 & Sprint Qualifying

The drivers will receive a warm welcome on Friday - quite literally. Temperatures will reach up to 32°C with the sun burning down all day. Humidity levels will rise to 58%, with no chance of rain stated for FP1 and the Sprint Qualifying.

Saturday, 18 October, Sprint & Race Qualifying

The teams will need to get their parasols out for this weekend’s Sprint and Qualifying session, as temperatures are expected to spike at 34°C on Saturday. There is an insignificant 15% chance of rain for the day, which is unlikely to come into effect. Humidity remains at 58% with gentle breezes of around 13km/h.

Sunday, 19 October, Race

Those who expected shifting weather conditions for Sunday’s main event might be dissapointed: There is a 0% chance of rain for the day, with temperatures rising up to 30°C. The most significant change will be in wind speeds reaching 15-25km/h, marking the weekend’s high.

Summed up: This weekend will serve as a perfect representation of the Texas weather clichée.
