Latest weather forecast for the 2025 Brazilian GP: Rain to shake up the field at Interlagos

This weekend Formula One returns to the famous Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known as Interlagos. Max Verstappen took one of the most memorable wins of his career in Brazil last year, starting from P17 on the grid and charging through the field in rainy conditions. Talking about the weather: Rain and Interlagos – a partnership that never fails. Last year rain was pouring down all weekend, but will it be the same this year? Let’s find out.

THE FORECAST

FRIDAY, 7 NOVEMBER, FP1 & SPRINT QUALIFYING

Interlagos’ weather cliché is likely to be proved right on Friday already. In the morning hours, rain clouds will start to appear in the sky. FP1 could still take part under dry conditions, however, for the afternoon Sprint Qualifying the chance of rain is stated at 60%. Temperatures will be at around 26°C during the day, with humidity levels being at around 67%.

SATURDAY, 8 NOVEMBER, SPRINT & RACE QUALIFYING

In terms of weather, Saturday will be the most intense day of the weekend. Thunderstorms are expected to hit the track throughout the day, leading to a 90% chance of rain for both sessions. Winds are as well expected to pick up, reaching speeds of 25-40km/h.

SUNDAY, 9 NOVEMBER, RACE

For this weekend’s main event, we might see calm after the storm. Sunday looks to be a bit brighter overall, with winds decreasing and the chance of rain dropping to an all-weekend low of 24%. Temperatures will be at around 21°C, five degrees lower than the day before.

What can’t be left out however: The weather in São Paulo is very unstable and likely to change every minute, so this forecast is still very vague. Still, the weather is definitely going to shake up the order this weekend - perhaps laying the foundation for another Brazilian GP classic.
